The lightbox fix will be released with 4.0. For now, I'm marking this post as resolved.

I'll check out the lightbox plugin and see if I can pinpoint the reason for the incompatibility.

Hi, sounds great! Found time today to some in-depth testing, and I though you might be interested in the results:

1.) It was not a theme incompatibility; after I noticed that the problem also occured with the standard theme, I started deactivating plugins.

2.) The problem was my Lightbox Plugin - this one: http://m3nt0r.de/blog/projekte/lightbox-wordpress-plugin/

I used it because it inserts the rel="lightbox" automatically into all linked images, but I can live withouth that plugin; but maybe there's a way to fix this incompatibility.

I did not get the drop-down mode for the icons to work though - the "more icon" hovers, but the other menu points don't appear; probably another JS issue, but it's not that important, I've switched to standard display.

I noticed a few timer bugs and fixed a few things.

I have a few more bugs to squash, but if all goes well I'll release 3.3 with the fix today.

Ronald made a test comment. I have a strong feeling that this could be a clash between JavaScripts.

It starts to load the floating layer and redirects to the next page.

We can try three things to test:
1. Temporarily change your theme, test if AEC gives the same issue
2. Disable the "ajax comment posting plugin" and try editing comments
3. More painful, but if you have another blog, load this theme there and test AEC

Hi, I'm not sure if this is a theme or a plugin issue, so I'm posting it here.

I set everything up, the editing as such works fine; but I suppose the comment should be loaded in a floating layer. In my case though, it's always loaded in the original tab; so after saving, I have to hit "back" and reload. Plus the timer is not showing and when I chose "dropdown" for the icons", the list doesn't get expanded.

Would be great if you could give it a try here - editing for visitors is enabled:
http://blog.datadirt.net/2009-12/just-in-case-you-need-a-google-invite/

I suppose this is some Javascript-related issue; I'm using a *lot* of plugins, but none that interfere with the JS loading... I'd be glad for any hint about where to locate the problem

thx in advance for your help,
