TakeFive,

I just released a new version. It's not a necessary upgrade, but if you have time, perhaps you can see if the upgrade works for you this time?

Thanks,

TakeFive,

I'm very sorry you're still having upgrade issues. Hopefully it was a temporary issue with Amazon S3 (where our files are hosted). I and several others were able to upgrade okay with this release.

Did you try upgrading using the built-in "Check Upgrade" or using WordPress' standard upgrade feature? Both should theoretically work.

It looks like I'll be releasing another release shortly, so please do keep me posted if you have any further issues.

Weird but the auto update is not working. Using the Linoluna theme which may be the culprit. I will manually install but wanted to let you know. This is the second auto update that failed so something is wonky with the theme I think. We have been working on migrating to a new theme called Arthemia 1.0 but that is by the same author so who knows. Any ideas?

Here was the warning from WP: "An error occured while updating WP Ajax Edit Comments: Upgrade package not available.."

Yeah, if you want to really customize the plugin, I'd suggest the AEC-CDN add-on, since you can modify the plugin at will without having to worry about updates overwriting your changes.

Conrad,

I'm very sorry for just now seeing this thread.

It usually depends on your setup, but you may see an error.log in your web root. If not, you can usually find error logs in your C-Panel.

One thing you can try (if your host doesn't like dynamic CSS) is to use the AEC-CDN add-on.

If you want to try that, I'll e-mail you a test URL once you install the add-on. If that works, then we can proceed to the next step.

Do you have access to your logs? There must be some kind of error for the CSS file causing the 500 error you're receiving.

Thanks for that. I would love to suggest smaller, more streamlined icons ... perhaps something like the LED icons:

http://offbeatmama.com/wp/wp-content/themes/obm/images/icons/led/spellcheck.png

Or just add an admin field where users can set their own icons. I LOVE the little "pencil in a circle" icon that you guys use elsewhere ... these big spellcheck/expand icons just feel really out of place with the rest of the plugin.

offbeat,

You would need to edit the CSS or overwrite the rules using your theme's CSS.

If you want to edit the plugin's CSS, these changes would get overwritten every time you upgrade the plugin, I suggest using the AEC-CDN add-on for the images/CSS if you want to go with this approach.

You would need to edit these two files:
1. For the spellcheck icon, {plugindirectory}/css/atd/atd.css?ver=1.0 (Line 31)
2. For the expand icon, {plugindirectory}/css/frontend.css?ver=1.0 (Line 16)

Hi

Is it possible to add Gzipped versions of the larger JavaScript & CSS files to future versions? A simple .htaccess mod can serve the already-Gzipped, if it exists, rather than giving the server extra work to do with each page load.

I'd gzip them myself but that would break any future updates when I forget to do it again.

I explain the .htaccess stuff here: http://icanhazdot.net/2010/03/23/some-wordpress-stuff/

7-zip is a good gzipper.

cheers

I would recommend installing the latest AEC via FTP. Hopefully no more upgrade issues from here on out.

I have 4.081 installed and should be upgraded automatically to 4.1.1.0 which is not happening. Ideas on how to correct and get the update? We are using the Linoluna theme over at TakeFiveADay.com.
